are and sterling customer service, infused with

key to our success and we value each one we serve
After years of collecting antiques, visiting shops across the country and attending auctions, Jan Hiebert established her own shop in Monterey County in the Fall of 1986. The shop soon became very popular with a loyal, local customer base and tourists who were happy to pull off Highway 101 for a much-anticipated treasure hunt.
After moving to Twain Harte in 1991, Jan established a successful booth space in the Sonora Antique Guild. In 1996 Jan moved her booth space to "Main Street Antiques," a very popular co-op shop, with 10 dealers, on Main Street in Jamestown, California.
With twenty years in school finance, plus working for a local certified public accountant, Jan decided to change her focus and satisfy a long-term personal goal. In 2003, she graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Instead of moving on with the traditional MBA, Jan decided to take courses at College for Appraisers in Huntington Beach, CA. In June of 2005, she passed the extensive coursework and exams to earn the certification: "Graduate Certified Appraiser." In October of 2005, she passed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices exam, a certification that must be renewed every five years.
"I learned to love doing research, while studying at UOP, and now I just love doing it for my clients."
Constant study, continuing coursework, and knowledge of the current market trends keep Jan in tune with today's marketplace in the antique trade.
Life-long learning is not only the key to an interesting life, but crucial to success in the appraiser's world.
